Writer of small things: short/flash fiction, poetry and that blurry zone where they overlap. Former fiction editor for Issues Magazine, Pushcart Prize nominee for work featured in the 2015 Jersey Devil Press Anthology, and two-time prizewinner of the RTHK Radio/The Standard Short Story Contest. Currently (and slowly) working on a novel-in-vignettes, which began as part of my thesis work at Brown University.

Originally from Taoyuan, Taiwan, I currently live in Providence, Rhode Island where I work in the civil rights field. I like crosswords, costumes, aquariums and football.

I’m fascinated with the visceral language of taste and touch: how emotional intimacy can be mapped onto the physical body, and sensuality used as a proxy for communication (or lack thereof). A lot of my work involves writing about sex that isn’t intended to be sexy, but instead a tool for examining interpersonal relationships. I like making the bizarre familiar, and the body foreign. I’m blessed to be friends with so many wiser writers and artists, who inspire and encourage me to improve.

Feel free to drop me a note if you’re interested in soliciting work, collecting a debt, and/or just wanna chatter.
